Tailpiece violin
Composer Edition - Ludwig van Beethoven
BERDANI develops tailpieces that are perfectly matched to your instrument in precise manual work. All Berdani products are completely built in Germany. We offer different models and different lengths to ensure that your instrument produces the best possible sound.
Our idea for an optimal sound:
•the weighting of the tailpiece is selected in such a way that the vibrations of the instrument supports and not be hindered
•the tailpiece is so hollowed out that it does not favour a wolf tone
•the angles of the strings from the bridge to the tailpiece do not taper, but run straight, downwards and parallel to each other. The result is a harmonious and balanced sound
•the slot width is so wide that the thickest string fits into the slot without cutting. The String vibrates more freely
•the tailpiece comes with a plastic and a braided string. You can do the following decide yourself which sound you like better
•the fret of the tailpiece is rounded on one side to minimize the rubbing of the tailpiece
•the fine tuners are made of titanium and can be installed and removed by hand
•A smooth-running thread allows the screw in the titanium fine tuner to be loosely turned and can be tuned optimally

Boxwood and Dark Boxwood
We have developed a process to color the box tree in a natural way.
Our boxwood is completely stained without stains or alkalis, such as saltpetre or ammonia.
Only pure linseed oil and canauba wax is used for surface treatment.
The violin maker only has to oil the pegs, chinrests and tailpieces, no pickling or caustic solutions are necessary. We offer the boxwood in two colours. Boxwood light looks like conventionally dyed boxwood. Dark boxwood can serve as a substitute for rosewood.
